2011 is looking like it will be another good year for us Alchemists. We have a whole slew of new things coming your way. First off is the cool cosmic voyage of Local Winds debut EP. It’s full of brilliant soundscapes, compositions and beats that showcase a rising talent in the field of independent (in all senses of the word) electronic music. It will be available on mini cd and cassette some time in February.
We are now happy to unveil for you that the title will be “in the world of ours…” and we have the cover art and tracklist below.

1. Tree Gathering
2. Small Towns
3. Games
4. Driving At Night
5. Sophomore Year
6. Footprints
7. Washed Ashore
8. Velvet

One of our new favorite blogs, Neo Noir, has posted some nice remarks on I and I’s upcoming maxi single ‘The Hardest Part’. They’ve included it in their Hype column along with downloads from Memory Tapes, Teen Daze and a bunch of other good tracks. Here’s an excerpt of what they had to say: “It’s a slow burning piano driven epic possessing that ineffable quality that gives weight and drama to whatever you happen to be doing while it’s on. As if you’re in the opening credits of a movie you never knew you were starring in. It comes with some truly stellar remixes from Atlantic At Pacific and Nassau. But the biggest surprise of all is the last track, Pocahontas, which is truly strange in the best way possible.”
Read the rest here.
Once again the cover design of the ‘Hype’ section is really great so we have to share it.

After a small delay, the Atlantic At Pacific ‘Weddings’ tapes are here! They look and sound pretty great if we do say so. There’s four variations in the covers, six different variations in the labels and two different tape colors. The dubbing was done by National Audio Co.(highly recommended) on hi-bias tapes so the sound is awesome. Weddings is really well suited to the analog sweetness of tape! Order yours for 8$ here. Here’s some photos:

Like a pop music emissary from the future One In A Googolplex delivers his masterpiece The Dropout Cats.
A world in which 8 bit game blips, acoustic guitars, toy synths, percussion and soul filled vocals can exist in harmony is no farther away than the play button.
Though it won’t officially be out til Oct. 19th we now have it up for pre-order which means if you place your order now we’ll ship it out to you as soon as we can (CDs by end of this week, Cassette by next week). Be the first on your block to rock the Dropout Cats on limited CD 10$ or on limited Cassette 8$ (should have photos soon).
