comfrt crtures are weird animls

Friday, October 1st, 2010

We consulted Nietzsche about the newest addition to the Alchemist Collective, comfrt crtures…here’s what he had to say:

“O my animals, chatter on like this and let me listen. It is so refreshing for me to hear you chattering; where there is chattering, there the world lies before me like a garden. How lovely it is that there are words and sounds! Are not words and sounds rainbows and illusive bridges between things which are eternally apart? Speaking is a beautiful folly: with that man dances over all things. How lovely is all talking, and all the deception of sounds! With sounds our love dances on many-hued rainbows.”

You are invited to Weddings

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

We are excited to announce that on August 24th we’ll be releasing new artist Atlantic at Pacific‘s rad debut “Weddings”. It’s full of hazy shimmering beat driven beach music that is as much akin to Eno’s ambient work and Boards of Canada as it is to recent “Chillwave” sounds from the likes of Washed Out. We’ll be featuring some Atlantic at Pacific material here as we lead up to the release date. For now, here is the cover featuring an awesome image by holgabot.

hypnosis video

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

How does movement (or lack thereof) through space relate to the way our identities develop? What do places have to do with the way we think about ourselves and define the limits of the possible? Is the material world a “scaffold of memory” or do our memories provide foundations for the ongoing production of the world? Or both? That’s what this song and video are about…on one level, at least.

Ground Zero

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Some tracks from Illus Ocean’s debut are starting to trickle out on the Interwebs so we thought we’d put them up here.  The first is the plaintive and soulful “Ground Zero” which showcases Ocean’s ability to craft something quite singular and fresh while nodding to the past.

Seven Lives and Tasty Mice

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Straight out of Germany, Sebastian of One in a Googolplex has graced us with two new songs for an upcoming digital single.  “Seven Lives and Tasty Mice” backed with “Just Like You” continue with the strengths of his first two releases but move in a heavier, more beat oriented direction.  Their is also a strong 8 bit, glitchy element to these songs that provides a nice contrast to the sonorous vocals.  The lyrics and art take the cosmic element of OiaG to a new astral plane!  The blogoshpere seems to be liking the new tunes.  Popstereo said “Broken hearted, broken pop made with broken synths have truly never sounded so good.”  The single will be out next Tues. the 9th and next week we’ll be posting a video for “Just Like You” until then here’s an alternate version of the cover art.

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

The Pistol Arrows self titled record was named in the top 100 of the 00’s list compiled by the OklahomaRock  blog.  The venerable Arrows release has now reached the tenth anniversary mark.  We should have it digitally released sometime soon.  Until then listen to some tracks here or purchase it from us (or Amazon).
