BAnanas Symphony debut ‘Two Sided’ out May 10th

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011

Back in December we promised a debut from Philadelphia resident Yohsuke Araki’s BAnanas Symphony project and we can now reveal that it will be out May 10th on cd, cassette and digital formats. The album is titled ‘Two Sided’ and it’s a collection of the best of the BAnanas various EPs and releases over the past year or so. As a result, it contains a variety of sounds and approaches but an overriding vibe of experimental tones, gripping melodic voices, interesting words and brilliant voyages make it seem quite holistic. Here’s the bit of local history based exploding artwork and the tracklist. More to follow.

1. Held Up
2. Free Kicks
3, Two Sided
4. Vino
5. To Love Somebody
6. Miss Knuckles
7. Slim Trim
8. Hun
9. It’s Coming Around

Jours Avec Jennie tape out nowwwwwww

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

In the words of the astute blog Auxiliary Out, “Vermont pop genius Zach Phillips (Horse Boys, Sord, Nals Goring, OSR Tapes etc.) has delivered unto us a motherf***in’ faux-French masterpiece”. We are pleased to say this incredibly unique c30 cassette is now available for a mere 7$ here. Written and recorded in a mere 8 days this tape is part of the prodigious output of 12 albums that Zach has been streaming out over the last year under many different guises and on many different labels including Feeding Tube, Night People and his own OSR tapes. We are stoked to be putting out what stands as one of his most brilliant and accessible albums. This will apparently be the one and only album to bear the GDC name and this is an edition of 100 so get one whilst the getting is good. For more information on the world that is Zach Phillips see his blog and if you haven’t done it yet check out this standout track and attune your eyeballs to some photos of the tapes in all of their multi-hued glory:

Lilly out now

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

One In A Googolplex’s new digital 7″ ‘Lilly’ has now hit the digital shelves. It’s a victory lap of sorts after last year’s brilliant LP ‘The Dropout Cats‘ and it shows a surprising burst of a leap forward into more pop oriented terrain. Aussie blog Neo-Noir described it thusly “It’s a completely ecstatic cacophony of electro-pop that continues the vibe of his very impressive debut The Dropout Cats nicely.” We couldn’t have said it better.
Download ‘Lilly’ and b side ‘My Sister’s Poems’ at your digital retailer of choice. For a shortcut, follow the links in the player here.
